Hi everyone!
My name is Carine Monchen and I will be the next chairman of the board of the MARUG. I am currently 20 years old and my hobbies are hockey, skiing and going out with friends. It was almost 2 years ago that I moved from Lelystad to Groningen to start with the study International Business. During my second year of the study I noticed something was missing and I started looking for a new challenge to take on before doing a semester abroad. The position of chairman of the MARUG board was exactly the kind of challenge I was looking for!
I eventually arrived at the MARUG because I had already heard many positive stories about the association from people around me, and I had also been approached by Sam. After a successful coffee with Sam, I became very enthusiastic about doing a board year and quickly after this I also planned coffees with Merel and Tim. The exciting stories they had experienced during their board year and the great amount of new people they had met were incredible. Eventually, it was the coffee with Tim that had finally made me decide to run for the position of chairman!
A few weeks after my application, I received the amazing news that I was selected for the position as chairman of the MARUG Board 2024-2025. This day was the beginning of a new adventure and a new chapter of my life.
