How to Keep the Customer's Attention

In order to promote sales, it is important to reach as many people as possible. This can be done in many ways these days, but what is the best way to keep the attention of the audience? After all, the longer ‘potential’ customers pay attention, the more likely they are to buy the product. Here are some tips to keep the customer's attention.

Start the camera

Yes, go start the camera. Because videos are, in most cases, the best way to keep the attention compared to other media types. For example, twenty percent of the people will read the whole text on a site while 80 percent of the people will watch a video with the exact same content. Moreover, videos keep prospect customers on a site up to two minutes longer. Videos on landing pages can also increase conversions by 86 percent. In addition to all these benefits, there is another positive thing about videos. Potential customers retain 58 percent of what they see but only ten percent of what they read. So, use this to your advantage!

Don’t overegg the pudding

However, videos have their bad sides too. Videos take longer and are harder to create than other forms of media. Besides, 58 percent of the people will stop watching a video within the first 90 seconds. Given this, it can be assumed that even with videos the attention cannot always be held well, which means that the message cannot always be conveyed. To solve this problem, try and make the video as smooth and snappy as possible and try to stay within those 90 seconds.

Share audience values

To create a great experience in today’s age, your marketing strategy requires some kind of personalization. Personalization requires data. This means it’s essential to do research that goes beyond customer age, location and income that identifies your target audiences’ motivations. If you use audience values in your media, the audience will be more interested in your story and are likely to feel more involved in what is being said. As a result, sales will most likely increase.

Trigger the senses

A Great customer experience is about more than just a good cup of coffee. By giving the customer a better understanding of the products they are buying and by giving a deeper appreciation for the companies behind the products, the experience will be more immersive and active. Whatever your media type will be, also try to turn your message and brand into a story that elicits an emotional response. By staying true to your brand promise, identifying with customer motivations, and delivering compelling experiences, will show customers that your brand is the one to watch.

Be unique

The final tip is: try to be unique. You can learn from your competitors, but don’t copy them. Potential customers are most likely fed up with all kinds of information in their newsfeeds, so try to be unique and different. By creating your own inimitable voice, your potential customers will be more interested, and it will be easier to keep their attention.
