My name is Luc van der Scheer, I am 23 years old and I will be your secretary for the MARUG board upcoming year. I am studying Communication and Information Sciences, and currently I am a first years student. My hometown is the beautiful city of Zwolle where I have lived for about eight years now. I came to Groningen to pursue my studies here and to make new friends and connections. Some of my hobbies include basketball and padel, but I am not shy from a drink with my friends.
Before taking on this function at the MARUG I knew I wanted to do something outside of my studies, but I did not know what, until one morning I suddenly received a message with the question if I was interested in a board year at the MARUG. There was no doubt about it, I immediately let them know that it indeed was something that I was very interested in, and now here I am, ready to start a new chapter of my student life.
I was not very familiar with the MARUG before I got approached because my study is not part of the FEB. But the past few weeks so much has happened and now it’s like I didn’t know any better.
After my application I knew for sure I wanted to join the MARUG, my connection with Roos felt very good and there was no doubt in my mind that I wanted to join her board. About two weeks later I got the call with the question if I wanted to join her board and I immediately said yes. Right now we have an amazing team that I can’t wait to share this board year with!
