International Marketing Experience

Join the IME Committee – Open to Both Dutch and International Students!

The MARUG International Marketing Experience (IME) offers a unique opportunity for both Dutch and international students to explore marketing practices in a European city. By visiting international companies, you’ll gain valuable insights into business cultures abroad and how they differ from those in the Netherlands. You'll tackle real-life business cases during company visits, and of course, there will be plenty of time to discover the city and bond with fellow students.

In the seven weeks leading up to the trip, you’ll take part in inspiring lectures and fun social activities to prepare and connect with the group. In recent years, the IME has visited vibrant cities such as Milan, Budapest, Rome, Madrid, Bucharest, Istanbul, Prague, Barcelona, Vienna, and Lisbon.

As a committee member, you'll begin preparing seven months before the trip. Together with the MARUG board, you’ll select the destination and take full responsibility for organizing the trip and its preparatory program.

Committee Roles:

• Chairman – Coordinate the team, lead meetings, and oversee the entire process.

• External Relations – Contact international companies and arrange company visits abroad.

• Theme & Speakers – Organize lectures and find engaging speakers for the preparatory program.

• PR & Promotion – Handle promotion, social media, and create visual content.

• Week Organisation – Plan the logistics and social activities of the preparatory weeks.

Practical Info:

• Open For: Dutch and international students

• Period: October – May

• Workload: ± 6 hours per week

• Application Deadline: September 28th
